Overview
The LV SWGR (Low Voltage Switchgear) Product Manager IEC EMEA gathers and analyzes customer needs, evaluates market and regulatory trends, develops new product roadmaps and strategy, leads presales support, and works collaboratively with others to drive profitable growth and innovation. This position is responsible for working with EMEA regional and functional teams to achieve both financial and sales objectives. The LV SWGR Product Manager exercises supervision in terms of R&D priorities, product target costs, design and pricing methods, and resourcing in a global SWGR PL (switchgear product line) matrixed organization.
The successful candidate will be required to make frequent trips to the Republic of Ireland.
Responsibilities
* Ownership of the LV SWGR (IEC 61439-2) product lifecycle management function, including hardware, configuration software, and start-up services provided by EMEA Vertiv Service Team, from new product development, through growth and phaseout.
* Coordination with peers to drive innovation, development, and delivery, including specializations for Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Services, Edge Computing, and customized applications (general data center market). Targeting growth and product development in the greater EMEA Commercial & Industrial space (C&I).
* Enablement of global routes to market to facilitate commercial success, aligning with regional partners’ business models. Leverage the global Vertiv business development model and Vertiv’s global manufacturing footprint (Americas, Europe and Asia).
* Enablement of supply bases (both internal Vertiv and 3rd party suppliers) for competitive fulfillment across all business regions, with a focus on leveraging this for the EMEA region supporting the IEC 61439-2 standard.
* Competitive assessment in the IEC EMEA market, including technology and market partnership opportunities (make vs. buy analysis). Identify emerging market opportunities rooted in technology applications, especially in cloud, colocation, and enterprise data center settings. Focus on electrification growth in the EMEA region.
* Facilitation of tools like configuration development and enhancement, content creation, and data management enabling Customers, Partners, and internal/external stakeholders to grow Vertiv solutions profitability.
* Responsible for LV SWBD configurator list pricing and subsequent pricing management, working closely with EMEA SWGR Cost Manager and finance counterparts.
* Positioning as a trusted adviser to customers and regional partners in target segments. Participation in industry groups that influence codes and standards.
* Directly drive and facilitate LV SWGR technical input and requirement specifications for new product development at the product and system level.
* Lead and enable identification, prototyping, and validation of design improvements at the product and system level to improve performance across the system life cycle, including configuration, logistics, packaging, assembly, commissioning, operation, and end-of-life support. Consider circular economy factors and environmental health and safety (EHS).
* Collaborate with Vertiv Marketing Communications to support LV SWGR literature requirements and regional marketing opportunities such as tradeshows.
Qualifications
* B.S. in Engineering preferred or equivalent experience in product engineering, manufacturing or marketing.
* Demonstrated experience in Engineering/Supply Chain or Manufacturing Operations with cross-functional teams to identify and execute priority actions.
* Ability to drive and adapt to change, and to implement continuous improvement processes.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Smartsheet and Power BI experience is beneficial.
* Ability to interface with customers at executive and technical levels.
* Experience leading cross-functional meetings and presenting to small groups, in person or via digital conferencing (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.).
* NPDI (New Product Development Introduction) and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) experience.
* Demonstrated curiosity and a lifelong learner mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
* Comfortable working autonomously.
* Experience introducing new processes to an existing organization.
* Strong problem solving, data analysis, and project management skills.
* Direct experience in IEC 61439-2 Low Voltage Electrical Apparatus (<600V) equipment space.
* Direct experience with low voltage (<600V) electrical components such as circuit breakers, transformers, metering, arc flash mitigation equipment, etc.
