SALARY: The salary banding for this role is £45,954 - £51,060
LOCATION: Edinburgh
HOURS: 35 hours, full time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, involving at least two days per week at one of our office sites.
About this opportunity:
As an Azure Engineer within the infrastructure team, you will manage and deploy Microsoft server and cloud solutions for the group. Your responsibilities include designing and maintaining new technology, providing 3rd line support for existing systems, and supporting staff through various communication channels. Please note this is a support/engineer infrastructure role, not DevOps.
Key responsibilities:
* Specialize in Azure architecture, products, and services.
* Proactively assess and improve system resilience, capacity, and availability.
* Design and implement new Azure infrastructure, on-premise, and hybrid solutions.
* Manage hybrid cloud infrastructure including servers, storage, security, and virtualization.
* Document systems, architecture, design, and configurations thoroughly.
* Provide technical leadership and guidance to peers.
* Manage desktop builds/images with server infrastructure integration.
* Support complex infrastructure queries.
* Prioritize tasks and incidents according to service levels.

Requirements:
* Experience in designing and implementing MS Azure services including ADFS, Virtualization, SaaS, and PaaS.
* Experience managing resilient services like load balancing, availability sets, geo-redundancy, and Azure updates.
* Knowledge of Azure disaster recovery and backup solutions.
* Experience with Office365 interoperability at an SME level.
* Solid experience managing on-premise and hybrid server solutions.
* Experience deploying or integrating PC technologies within Windows environments (e.g., Direct Access, BitLocker).
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to interpret and analyze data effectively.
