Job Introduction
This job puts good food on the table.
As a Food Production Assistant at Sodexo in Chesterfield Hospital, you’ll play an important part in preparing and serving nutritious, comforting meals that support patient recovery and wellbeing. You’ll also help maintain a clean, safe environment in the kitchen and dining areas. With a cheerful attitude and great customer service, your presence can make a real difference in someone’s day. What You’ll Do
* Follow approved cooking and preparation methods per specifications to ensure quality
* Complete all production documentation, including temperature records, for hygiene and safety compliance
* Assist with monitoring production and wastage as per daily modis sheet
* Deliver ward order requests as instructed
* Complete service documentation: temperature logs, cleaning schedules, ward delivery records
* Accurately collate food service paperwork and numbers
* Clean equipment via mechanical dishwashing or hand washing as instructed
* Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and related areas, including equipment, following safety protocols
* Complete cleaning schedules for the catering department
* Report mechanical faults and repair needs to the supervisor
* Complete required training, including Food Safety and Health & Safety passports
* Undertake operational training and obtain sign off
* Follow food safety legislation and working guidelines at all times
* Perform other reasonable tasks as directed by management
What You Bring
* Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients and staff
* Ability to work well under pressure
* Ability to achieve performance criteria, with particular regard to hygiene
* Able to use own initiative
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
* Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
* Previous experience in a catering environment
