Overview
We’re looking for an experienced and confident HR Advisor to join our team at The HR Branch. As a growing HR consultancy, we deliver hands-on, people-focused HR services to a diverse client base. This role offers the chance to work directly with managers and employees, providing trusted HR advice and supporting businesses across the full employee lifecycle.
We’re offering a competitive salary in the range of £33,000 – £35,000 per annum, alongside flexible working arrangements, ongoing CPD support, and the opportunity to be part of a consultancy where your expertise really makes a difference.
Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day HR advice and support on a wide range of employee relations issues.
* Attend client meetings, supporting managers with disciplinaries, grievances, and other ER matters.
* Draft and update contracts of employment, handbooks, and HR policies tailored to each client.
* Support clients with recruitment administration, onboarding, and managing the employee lifecycle.
* Ensure compliance with employment law, right to work checks, and HR best practice.
* Undertake investigations and produce accurate notes and reports.
* Assist with the implementation of HR software (including BreatheHR) and provide ongoing client support.
* Get involved in HR projects such as policy reviews, management training, and TUPE processes.
* Contribute to client care, business development, and the growth of our consultancy.
Qualifications
* CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) with at least 2 years’ HR generalist experience.
* Solid knowledge of UK employment legislation.
* Strong experience of employee lifecycle administration (contracts, onboarding, recruitment).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex matters clearly.
* High attention to detail, strong organisation, and ability to juggle multiple client needs.
* Experience using HR or payroll systems (BreatheHR desirable).
* A customer-focused approach and proven relationship-building skills.
* Flexibility to work remotely, in-office, and on-site with clients across the East Midlands (and sometimes beyond).
* Full driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
