Job Summary
Due to expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Dialysis team at Dorchester Dialysis Unit. The role involves working with a progressive, welcoming, supportive team to deliver a high standard of care to patients attending for haemodialysis in an outpatient setting.
Main duties
The right candidate will demonstrate a professional demeanour and a passion for delivering efficient, compassionate, individualised and holistic care to patients. There are plans to expand the unit; when this occurs there may be scope for a dynamic, highly motivated candidate to develop enhanced clinic skills to Band 4 level. You will be working at the Dorset County Hospital Dialysis Unit.
Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum 1 year experience at Band 2 in NHS primary or secondary care with dialysis experience.
* Willingness to start HCSW apprentice level 3 qualification or equivalent (advantage).
* Varied shift work between 06:00‑23:30 Monday‑Saturday; possible rotation to in‑patient ward at DCH and satellite unit at Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
* Legal right to work in the UK; no Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.

o Evidence of ability to work with minimal supervision by registered nursing staff.
* Desirable skills
o Good communication skills.
o Understanding of confidentiality.
o Ability to maintain accurate and legible documentation.
o Teamwork and collaboration.
o Effective relationships with colleagues, patients, and visitors.
* Essential experience
o Sufficient experience working as a nursing assistant.
* Desirable experience
o Understanding of Band 3 role.
* Essential qualifications
o NVQ Level 3 in renal care / renal competencies or working towards this qualification.
* Desirable qualifications
o Secondary school level education.
