Overview
Avionic Technician: Competitive umbrella rate; 16-month contract; Inside IR35; Location: West Wales Airport, Aberporth, Wales. Start: no later than 03 November 2025. Must be able to obtain SC clearance.
Responsibilities
* Prepare UAV systems, Ground Control Stations (GCS), and airfield for launch, flight, and recovery.
* Conduct troubleshooting, Preventative Maintenance (PM), and Corrective Maintenance (CM).
* Maintain avionics, electronic systems, and Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
* Use diagnostic tools including BIT, FLSCU, and PATE.
* Replace Line Replaceable Units (LRUs).
* Perform pre-flight checks, post-flight handling, inspections, and refuelling.
* Manage data recording, logbooks, and documentation.
* Certify inspections and supervise colleagues where required.
* Maintain the software library and cryptographic material.
Skills and Competencies
* Strong compliance and process discipline.
* Clear communication and stakeholder management.
* Effective team player with supervisory capability.
* IT proficiency (Microsoft Office).
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
Knowledge and Experience
* In-depth knowledge of F700 Series and Aircraft Data Sets.
* Familiarity with GOLDesp and RESOLVE tools (desirable).
* Understanding of airfield, flight line, and runway operations.
* Experience within military or civilian aviation, ideally aerospace.
* Knowledge of avionic first- and second-line maintenance.
* Previous signatory authorisations within MAA structures desirable.

* Location: West Wales Airport, Aberporth (SA43)
* Length: 16 months (until March 2027)
* Hours: 37 hours/week across a 9-day fortnight
* Travel and Accommodation: T and S (accommodation and hire car) available for non-local candidates
* Security Clearance: Essential (bonus if already held)
