About the Role
As a Chemistry Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons that foster a deep understanding of scientific concepts and practical skills. You will support pupils in developing knowledge, experimentation abilities, and scientific reasoning, while inspiring a lifelong interest in Chemistry.
Key responsibilities include:
* Teaching Chemistry across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential KS5 (A-Level) opportunities depending on experience
* Planning and delivering differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all pupils
* Designing practical activities and laboratory experiments safely and effectively
* Assessing and monitoring pupil progress, providing constructive feedback
* Contributing to curriculum development and departmental resources
* Maintaining a stimulating, safe, and supportive learning environment
* Supporting extra-curricular Science clubs, competitions, or enrichment opportunities
* Collaborating with colleagues across the Science department and the wider school
Experience and Qualifications
The successful candidate will:
* Hold a Degree in Chemistry or a closely related Science subject
* Have QTS or PGCE, or be completing an ECT programme
* Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching Chemistry
* Have experience teaching Chemistry in secondary education or through placements for ECTs
* Be confident in planning, classroom management, and practical work supervision
* Be committed to inclusive teaching and safeguarding
