Lead Sustainability Consultant
Interv_l is working with a London-based sustainable building design consultancy founded by 3 partners from large construction/engineering consultancy backgrounds who decided clients & employees should be the focal point of their business model. Having gone from success to success, they're looking for a Lead Sustainability Consultant to join their ranks.
Your role as a Lead Sustainability Consultant:
* Oversee a number of sustainability projects, ranging from green building building certification, sustainability & ESG strategy development, net zero design, carbon footprinting, through to circular economy.
* Your primary areas of focus would include Circular Economy (CE) - with an intial focus on retention vs demolition projects - and construction-side sustainability.
* You'll provide technical guidance and analysis to influence sustainability and CE strategies, and lead workshops to help clients define their strategic sustainability brief.
* Collaborate with consultant team members to support the design and delivery of the sustainability brief.
* Develop, evaluate, monitor and report on project sustainability targets.
* Project leadership and mentoring of junior team members.
* Through a shared role with a colleague, assist the Head of Sustainability in the operation and management of the Sustainability Team. This will include project governance, forecasting and bidding work
* Represent the company in working groups and positively engage with industry institutions to promote and share knowledge
* Identify research and development opportunities to enable us to stay at the forefront of the sustainability agenda.
What do skills and experience do you need to be successful?
* A degree-level qualification in a sustainability/environmental management/geography subject
* At least 6 years relevant experience working in the field of sustainability consultancy and/or construction-side sustainability.
* A good understanding of and experience in developing detailed circular economy strategies, carrying out CE assessments and preparing CE documentation.
* Experience in advising on and delivering BREEAM, WELL, Fitwel schemes. Preferably BREEAM AP and BREEAM Assessor.
* Ideally, experience in preparing documentation for London-based planning applications.
* Experience in leading and delivering projects, coordinating and managing input from more junior members of the team.
* Experience in preparing and delivering presentations to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
