Job Summary
The Water Land and Biodiversity (WLB) asset team manage the whole lifecycle of our WLB assets, i.e., from planning and delivery, through to upkeep and eventual decommissioning. This job is a mixture of field and office-based work, ranging from asset inspections and on-site maintenance, to planning, scheduling, and reporting.
Responsibilities
* Assist with the in‑year and future programme of maintenance to ensure that WLB assets that support technical functions are maintained to an agreed target condition and ensure this information is input to Asset Information System in line with relevant deadlines and guidance.
* Work with the Grade 5 Advisor to deliver projects, ensuring WLB assets are safe to operate and maintain, in accordance with CDM principles. Compile, review pre‑construction information and ensure all necessary legal, statutory and environmental permits are obtained.
* Assist the programme of PSRA Assessments and T98 Asset Inspections across the WLB asset portfolio.
* Run reports to retrieve defects, action and close them in the Asset Management system, organising quick fixes and packaging non‑routine works into projects for the Medium‑Term Plan. Liaise with Grade 5 advisor, internal and external teams to develop solutions for below‑required condition assets.
* Coordinate specialist inspections required for WLB maintained assets such as structural engineering inspections, CCTV surveys, asbestos surveys, fire safety and legionella.
* Co‑ordinate delivery of relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) for public safety (PSRA), Asset Cataloguing, Asset Inspections, and ensure compliance with team members.
Qualifications & Experience
* Enthusiastic, can‑do attitude, passion for delivering work to a high standard and use initiative.
* Confident and effective communicator, both written and verbal, able to work independently and motivate oneself in various environments.
* Relevant work experience in engineering, project and asset management, data management, health & safety is advantageous but not required.
* Ability to demonstrate key transferable skills and personal qualities; competency based evidence expected.
Location & Travel
The role is based in Hertfordshire / North London from our Welwyn Garden City office with frequent travel to sites within this catchment area. A full driving licence is required; vehicle access will be provided for site visits.
