Overview
Support Worker Higher Level Pharmacy Services role at NHS Scotland. Band 3 Pharmacy Support Worker - Clinical Trials. Permanent contract - 37 hours/week. Based at Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre (Glasgow). The Clinical Trials Pharmacy team delivers approximately 150 clinical trials incorporating investigational medicinal products (IMPs), including oral medicines and aseptically prepared products. We are a Phase 1, Experimental Cancer Medicines Centre delivering immunotherapy, cellular and gene therapy and chemotherapy.
Responsibilities
* Join the friendly and supportive pharmacy team in the delivery of Clinical Trial Pharmacy services, ensuring the safe and effective supply of medicines to patients.
* Work as an integral member of the Clinical Trials Pharmacy team in the Clinical Trials Dispensary within the main pharmacy department at Beatson WoSCC.
Qualifications and Skills
* Proficient IT skills including typing and knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel); experience with email systems (Outlook) is essential.
* Proficient general education at National 5/Standard Grade level or above is essential.
* Experience in using stock control systems is desirable.
* Ability to plan and organise workload to meet the demanding needs of the service.
* Previous experience in healthcare/pharmacy or a customer-facing role is essential.
* The successful candidate will undertake an SVQ in Pharmacy Services Group Award (SCQF level 6) as per General Pharmaceutical Council requirements and complete on-the-job training to become proficient in the pharmacy support worker role.
