* Create a welcoming, family-friendly environment where children feel at ease and develop a sense of ownership.
* Ensure the nursery is a safe environment, maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety procedures.
* Foster positive interactions among children of various ages.
* Contribute to planning and provide a range of age-appropriate, stimulating activities, ensuring the nursery is well-resourced and creatively arranged.
* Lead observations and assessments of children's learning, maintaining up-to-date records, including Individual Education Plans for children with Special Educational Needs, and analyze data alongside the Manager.
* Build and maintain trusting relationships with parents and carers, encouraging their involvement in nursery life.
* Support colleagues and work flexibly as part of the team to ensure smooth nursery operations.
* Support staff development and uphold the nursery's vision and values.
* Adhere to nursery policies and procedures, including safeguarding and whistleblowing policies.
* Engage in personal development and training to stay current with legislation and best practices.
* As a qualified First Aider, administer first aid and medication appropriately, maintaining records.
* Participate in out-of-hours activities such as training, meetings, and events.
You will also be involved in breakfast, afterschool clubs, and holiday playschemes. There is an opportunity to undertake Forest School lead training.
Entry requirements
Level 3 in Early Years/Childcare. GCSEs in Maths & English at grade C/4 (or equivalent) are desirable but not essential. Relevant nursery experience is preferred.
