About the Role:
We're offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Administrator looking to take the next step in their logistics career. As an Assistant Transport Logistics Planner, you'll play a vital role in the day-to-day planning and operational efficiency of our transport operations. You'll work closely with drivers, customers, and management to ensure our fleet runs smoothly, safely, and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
* Route planning and vehicle scheduling
* Proactively report concerns or issues to the Director in advance
* Weekly updates of driver tachograph data
* Maintain vehicle records including MOTs, inspections, and unscheduled maintenance
* Manage driver files, training records, licence checks, and infringements
* Book fleet vehicles for scheduled maintenance and MOTs
* Brief and debrief drivers, address delivery and collection issues
* Process defect reports and coordinate vehicle repairs
* Communicate with customers regarding delays or delivery window issues
* Escalate delivery failures or re-delivery needs to the management team
What We're Looking For:
* Minimum 1 year of experience in a transport/logistics environment (required)
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* A proactive mindset with attention to detail
* Knowledge of legal transport regulations and safety standards
