Medical Receptionist / Medical Secretary – GP Surgery (20 hours per week)

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist / Medical Secretary to join a busy and supportive GP surgery in Wolverhampton (WV10). This is a part-time temporary role for 4 weeks, with the potential for extension.
The ideal candidate will be confident using key GP systems, experienced in referral processes, and comfortable managing a busy front desk and secretarial duties in a primary care environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Handling patient enquiries in person and over the phone
* Booking and managing appointments and repeat prescriptions
* Processing referrals via e-RS
* Managing incoming clinical correspondence through Docman
* Using EMIS Web to maintain accurate patient records
* Typing letters and supporting the GPs with administrative and secretarial tasks
* Filing, scanning, and updating patient records
* General reception and admin duties as required by the surgery
Requirements:
Experience working in a GP surgery is essential
Proficient in EMIS Web, Docman, and NHS e-Referral Service
Previous experience in a receptionist and/or medical secretary role
Excellent communication and administrative skills
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Immediate or short-notice availability preferred
Working Hours:
* 20 hours per week, spread over 4 to 5 days
* Start time: 09:00 AM each day
* Working pattern to be discussed and agreed with the practice
* Based fully on-site
Contract Length:
* 4 weeks initially, with potential to extend
