At SafeGuard, we specialise in the manufacture of sealed units for glazing as well as the processing of many other glass products. Established in 1995, we have over 30 years of experience in providing high quality glass and glazing, with a reputation for exceptional service.
We are looking for a highly motivated, hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join our skilled team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled engineer to join a well-established company and play an integral role in the future development of the business. We have plans for investment in new machinery so this will be a challenging and rewarding role.
The role will report to the Engineering and Facilities Manager and be tasked with supporting the efficient running and continuous improvement of the Maintenance & Engineering Department.
Role Description – Assisting the Engineering and Facilities Manager in:
* Proactive preventative maintenance of the production machinery and site
* Hands on repairs for machine breakdown
* Procurement of engineering spares & consumables.
* Being involved in project work.
* Supervision of external Contractors.
* Reviewing, monitoring and maintaining site health & safety.
We are looking for someone who has an engineering background within a manufacturing or production environment, with the following skills and qualifications:
* Maintenance Engineering Experience.
* Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance Background.
* Time Served Apprenticeship/HNC Qualification.
* Up-to-date Electrical Qualifications.
* Good level of IT knowledge.
* A capable, proactive and hands-on approach.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday (with working hours to be agreed), but you will be required to work some flexible hours to cover shift operation in the evening and weekends for breakdown call outs and planned maintenance.
Remuneration:
* Highly competitive salary - £36,000 to £44,000 per annum (depending on previous experience).
* Additional call out payments for out of hours attendance.
* Overtime rates paid for planned weekend maintenance work.
