Overview
The Emergency Department are actively seeking qualified Consultant within the area or for those who are looking to relocate and commence employment as a substantive Consultant. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest NHS hospitals in the UK, including our brand-new Major Trauma Centre building which is due to open in 2024. You will join a team of 25 Emergency Medicine Consultants, 2 Specialists at Consultant level, 4 Ambulatory Paediatricians and 3 Paediatric Emergency Nurse Consultants. The successful candidate will participate in delivering the full spectrum of Emergency Care across the Emergency Village, which includes our brand-new state of the art Emergency Receiving Area (ERA) situated within our new Major Trauma Centre building.
Responsibilities
* Unscheduled care of adult and Paediatric patients presenting to A&E with a broad spectrum of clinical conditions.
* Delivery of trauma care in the new trauma and resuscitation center.
* Morning ward rounds in the Emergency Village.
* Shop floor clinical supervision of junior medical staff, nurse clinicians and nurse practitioners over the whole of the unscheduled care service. Participation in multi-disciplinary meetings related to direct patient care.
* Patient related administration including complaint handling, police statements and coroner’s reports.
