Principal Delivery Manager (Digital / Agile)

Salary: £95,000 – £135,000 + 15% bonus + shares

About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Principal Delivery Manager to lead large-scale digital transformation programmes across public and commercial sectors. You’ll take ownership of delivery outcomes, ensuring projects meet strategic objectives while maintaining the highest levels of governance, quality, and client satisfaction.
This is a senior leadership position where you’ll empower teams, drive innovation, and play a pivotal role in shaping digital solutions that make a real-world impact.
What You’ll Do
* Set the vision and define the strategy for complex digital delivery programmes.
* Oversee multiple workstreams to ensure successful outcomes beyond time, cost, and scope.
* Manage budgets exceeding £1M and ensure accurate forecasting, reporting, and profitability.
* Build strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and clients.
* Motivate, mentor, and develop high-performing teams to deliver exceptional results.
* Establish and enforce robust governance, ensuring technical and quality standards are met.
* Collaborate with account and business development teams to identify and shape new opportunities.
* Promote innovation across projects through agile practices, emerging technology, and continuous improvement.
About You
* 5+ years managing complex, tech-led digital transformation projects using Agile methodologies.
* Proven experience leading large-scale programmes in a consulting environment.
* Skilled in budget ownership, forecasting, and stakeholder engagement at all levels.
* Demonstrable track record in business development and winning follow-on work.
* Experience working across one or more key sectors: Technology, Health, or Government.
* Excellent people leadership skills — able to inspire, coach, and drive performance.
* Confident decision-maker under pressure, with a balanced, pragmatic approach.
* Holds or is working toward a recognised Project/Programme Management certification (e.g. Agile, Prince2, PMP).
Desirable Skills
* Experience managing distributed Agile teams in multi-supplier environments.
* Exposure to user research, analytics, and design disciplines.
* Strong understanding of digital service delivery within public sector or enterprise clients.
* Demonstrated thought leadership and contributions to industry best practice.
