Job Description
Our client, Reading Council, is seeking an agency Social Worker for its Physical Disability and Older People team.
This is a 3-month post initially, paid at £38 per hour.
The role will involve the following:
* There will be a requirement of the Social Worker to come to Reading once a week for meetings or visits.
* Care Act assessments
* Support planning
* Mental Capacity assessments
* Safeguarding
* Applications to Court of Protection
* The PDOP Team forms part of the Living Well Service within Adult Social Care, working alongside the Mental Health and Learning Disability and Neurodiversity (LDN) teams. The service is overseen by a Head of Service and is focused on delivering person-centred, strengths-based support to promote independence and well-being.
* This multi-disciplinary team—comprising Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, and Social Care Co-ordinators—supports adults aged 18+ with long-term physical disabilities, as well as individuals aged 65 and over.

Requirements of the role:
* Qualified Social Worker
* Fully Social Work England registered
* Must have significant post-qualified experience in adult social care
* Ideal candidate will have expertise in safeguarding, MCA and some experience in court work, including applications to the Court of Protection
