Job Title: Security Officer
Rate: £14.47 per hour
Contracted Hours: 4 On 4 Off Nights Only (Avg 42hrs)
Unitrust Protection Services (UK) Ltd have an exciting opportunity available for a Security Officer to join our team. The role would involve you being trained on a number of sites across our London portfolio but primarily based on one site based on shift availability.

Role
Reporting to the security manager, working within this flagship building and prestigious environment, you will support the delivery of a truly exceptional customer journey for both staff and visitors. To achieve this, you will become well versed in the processes and practices of a Security professional. Excellence in customer service will be at the heart of the role.
Responsibilities
* Deliver outstanding customer service to staff and visitors
* Take an active interest in, and give commitment to the client
* Ensure that the environment and service is truly excellent and beyond expectation
* Promote the client, tenants other service providers positively to all you come in to contact with.
* Be highly presentable, accountable; take responsibility and ownership for any tasks identified or allocated
* Ensure all contact, be it internal or external; by telephone, face to face or any other medium; is clear, courteous, polite, professional and respectful
* Ensure complete client/tenant/other service provider confidentiality; protecting people and information is paramount
* Appropriate use of CCTV/access control and any other electronic management system, and completion of reports and documentation in a timely fashion
* Be familiar with all Security ad Emergency procedures on site and assist in the facilitation of their safe execution and practice. There may also be a need to become a fire marshal and first aider if applicable all training will be provided
* All Assignment Instructions / Operations Manual or Standard Operating Procedures are to be reviewed, understood, and followed
* Embrace and deliver the bespoke training requirements, specific to contractual obligation or regulation
* Completion of rostered duties and all associated tasks or responsibilities to the highest possible standard
* Ensure that all Health and Safety and Environmental procedures are followed and do not undertake any activity which could breach the SIA or other relevant regulations
* To complete any other reasonable task as instructed by your line manager or other Senior Manager, either Unitrust or at the request of the Client and/or tenants
* To support internal and external audit processes from Unitrust Security representatives, Client/Tenant Representatives, the SIA, any other relevant body with a relevant interest and valid reason for inspection or compliance checks
* To act with integrity and in the best interests of the company in a safe, compliant, and ethical manner
* To be resilient to working in the most sensitive environments, always dealing with any conflict with a respectful and empathic approach
* Be prepared to manage a wide variety and diversity of scenarios, people, and challenges
* Assist in the induction, development, or ongoing training of new team members across the disciplines where appropriate
Specific Responsibilities
* Welcome and assist staff, clients, tenants, and visitors to the premises in a warm and courteous fashion maintaining excellence as a standard throughout the customer journey
* Work with all colleagues to ensure the integrity of security on the site
* Early identification and mitigation of any threats to persons, premises, or property, escalating where appropriate to do so
* Have a outstanding knowledge of the premises (inside and external) and able to assist staff, clients, tenants, and visitors with their queries
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with all staff, visitors, tenants, service providers and clients
* Have good knowledge of the local area to be able to answer queries regarding local transport links or services in the area for example.
Security Specific Responsibilities
* Respond to alarms
* Ensure a safe and secure working environment for all
* Check identity and credentials of staff, contractors and visitors where required
* Record details of any suspected criminal activity on the premises (internal and external); commencing investigative procedures prior to onward reporting where necessary.
* Carry out proactive patrols, internal & external, as directed by assignment instructions
Essential Skills
* Valid SIA Security Guarding or Door Supervisor Licence
* Excellent oral, written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and confidence
* Exceptional customer service skills
