Recovery Worker – Southwick / West Sussex Coast
Salary: £18 – £24 per hour (dependent on experience)

DBS: Enhanced level check and update service required
About the Role
We are recruiting for a Recovery Worker position in the West Sussex coast area on behalf of a leading substance misuse service provider. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate individual to join a specialist multidisciplinary team, supporting people from the point of entry into the service and throughout their treatment and recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities
* Act as the main care coordinator for an assigned caseload, providing screening, asset mapping, comprehensive assessments, recovery planning and reviews of care
* Coordinate tailored packages of care including psycho-social interventions, 1-to-1 key work, group work, clinical interventions and harm minimisation
* Develop individual recovery plans identifying how each goal will support progression and community reintegration
* Carry out risk assessments and contribute to risk management plans
* Triage assessments and make onward referrals to treatment and community support agencies
* Support the development of service-based recovery communities and links with local mutual aid groups
* Work alongside prescribing clinicians to support substitute prescribing regimes
* Provide advocacy and support for service users to access partnership services
* Deliver health education around harm minimisation, blood borne viruses and overdose prevention
* Carry out screening processes including DBST, urine and saliva testing
* Support key harm reduction strategies including Needle Exchange and Naloxone distribution
* Liaise with partner agencies including health services, hospitals, GPs, mental health services and criminal justice agencies
* Accurately record and maintain case notes and data within required deadlines

Education, Knowledge & Experience
Excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working within a related field Essential
Commitment to multi-agency working and establishing partnerships to achieve good outcomes Essential
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high degree of IT competency Essential
Excellent time management and ability to work on own initiative Essential

Additional Information
