As a key member of the elective access team, the post holder will monitor patient pathway progress and support the achievement of the national
targets. The post holder will work with all members of the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) to facilitate the delivery of weekly MDT meetings. The post
holder will act as the focal point for the multidisciplinary team and will be an essential and integral part in the smooth running, administration and
organisation of a specific MDT service with clear communication facilitating patient management and ensuring clinical data is appropriately
collected and reported to the relevant internal and external groups. This is a unique administration role that requires flexibility, attention to detail,
initiative and excellent communication skills. The post holder will be responsible for the weekly validation of the Trusts’ patient tracking list (PTL)
and will inform the Waiting List Team Leader of any capacity issues identifying patients that cannot be treated within the Cancer and week Referral to treatment (RTT) targets.
Main duties of the job
. Facilitate data collection for diagnosed and suspected neurosurgical patients and enter the information onto appropriate database(s)
. Monitor and facilitate the progress of patients on diagnostic/treatment
pathways. Provide information to support achievement of the national waiting times targets
. Prepare and facilitate weekly MDT meetings
. Ensure accurate and comprehensive registration of patient records and
clinical details for pre-assessment appointments and elective admissions are added onto EPR in a timely manner, according to agreed standards, (the Trusts’ Elective Access Policy and Data Quality).
