We are currently looking for a motivated Aerodynamic Performance Engineer. In this role you will be challenged to provide detailed and knowledgeable aerodynamic input into the Aero Performance Group. You will be responsible to give aerodynamic feedback through the race weekend to help trackside engineering teams make the best decisions when optimising the race car.

1. To Liaise with the aero development groups to ensure that a clear understanding of how the aerodynamics of the race car is expected to function and why development directions have been taken.
To ensure a strong knowledge of the aerodynamic behaviour of the race car is well understood by the aero performance group and trackside engineering groups.
Prepare documentation to explain the behavior of new components and what behaviors should be expected on track.
To report back trackside activity to the aerodynamics department to aid understanding of differences between development tools and race car data.
To work closely with the correlation group and the wind tunnel and CFD engineers.
To improve the methods and tools of the aero performance group.
2. Maintain and develop good relationships with colleagues and partners.
Provide flexible remote and trackside attendance and attitude to work, both in line with the requirements of the role and any specific requirements of the APG activities.
Always work in a professional manner regardless of the task set and be pro-active in promoting a positive image for the department/team/sponsors.

4. Strong and broad understanding of race car aerodynamics.
5. Former experience within a wind tunnel and/or CFD development role essential.
6. Ability to have open and honest collaboration with other team members and groups.
7. Good coding skills in a mathematical programming language, e.g. MATLAB or Python. Understanding or experience with C# beneficial, but not essential.
8. Ability to scope all tasks thoroughly.
9. Deliver timely information and reporting, working to deadlines set on the job list with clear and effective communication.
10. Ability to work with the Team, including colleagues and external suppliers or contacts.
11. Ability to work under own initiative with a level of autonomy, pioneering innovative ideas and processes.
12. Travel 10-20%
