Electrical Technician - Aberdeen Location: Aberdeen Type: Full-time, Permanent Hours: Monday to Friday Our client, a well-established engineering business within the energy and manufacturing sector, is currently looking for an experienced Electrical Technician to join their team. The Role As an Electrical Technician, you'll be responsible for a wide range of workshop and site-based electrical work, including the manufacture, installation, commissioning, and servicing of electrical equipment and control systems. You'll work closely with engineers and supervisors to deliver projects to a high standard while maintaining full compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental policies. Main Responsibilities Build and assemble low-voltage electrical panels and systems Install and maintain control panels and electrical equipment Assist with mechanical assembly when required Conduct testing, inspection, and maintenance of control systems Route, terminate, and label wiring neatly and accurately Identify and repair faults efficiently Ensure all work meets QHSE and company standards Occasional travel to client sites may be required Skills & Experience Essential: Time-served Electrical Technician or completed a recognised apprenticeship Proven experience in panel building and electrical installation Strong understanding of motor control systems, PLCs, and automation equipment Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics Excellent attention to detail with strong cable management skills (crimping, soldering, routing) Knowledge of electrical regulations and safe working practices Strong communication skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team Desirable: Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or energy sector environments Familiarity with ISO-certified QHSE frameworks Basic mechanical assembly experience Previous experience in diagnostics and troubleshooting of control systems Qualifications Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship (or equivalent) Up-to-date understanding of electrical systems and wiring methods Benefits Competitive salary package (based on experience) Monday to Friday working hours Overtime available Company pension scheme Ongoing training and career development opportunities Supportive team culture and long-term stability Search is an equal opportunities recruiter and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified applicants, regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age
