We're looking for a Major Projects Commissioning Manager to join our Thames Water Framework team based in East Hyde, Bedfordshire.
Location: East Hyde,, Bedfordshire - some remote working may be available, with occasional travel to the office required.
Hours: 45 hours (08:00-17:30) - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
As Commissioning Manager, you'll lead and coordinate commissioning activity across a major sewage treatment works project worth approximately £100 million. Working closely with project teams and client stakeholders, you'll plan, assure, and deliver safe and compliant commissioning and handover, supporting successful project completion and transition into defects and warranty. This is a client-facing role where you'll represent Kier whilst collaborating effectively with Thames Water.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Major Projects Commissioning Manager, you'll be working within the Thames Water Major Projects team, supporting them in delivering high-value infrastructure projects. Your day to day will include:
* Developing and managing the project's commissioning programme in collaboration with the team and construction planners
* Leading and developing commissioning teams and engineers, supporting recruitment activities alongside the senior project team
* Developing and agreeing project handover documentation with Thames Water to enable successful project completion
* Ensuring compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements, maintaining high standards for health, safety, environment, and quality throughout delivery
* Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support delivery and alignment
What are we looking for?
This role of Major Projects Commissioning Manager is great for you if:
* You have a proven track record of delivering large, multi-disciplinary MEICA projects, including planning and managing the commissioning process
* You bring knowledge and experience within the water sector, preferably across both clean water and wastewater
* You have working knowledge of pumps and pipe systems, sludge treatment, chemical dosing, and water/wastewater process equipment
* You have experience using 3D models to support commissioning engagement, planning, and strategic reviews
* You demonstrate the ability to plan through to completion in line with water industry regulatory dates and consent requirements
