The Opportunity
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will lead the Site Services function, taking ownership of utilities, facilities, plant equipment and statutory compliance while supporting operational continuity in a food manufacturing environment. This is a varied and hands‑on leadership role, working closely with Operations, Production and Engineering teams, as well as managing external contractors and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the Site Services team, providing technical guidance, support and development.
* Ensure full compliance with all legal and statutory requirements, including: LOLER, PSSR, Legionella control.
* Oversee maintenance, operation and continuous improvement of site services and utilities.
* Manage contractor and supplier performance, ensuring safe systems of work.
* Take responsibility for facilities and building management across the site.
* Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety compliance.
* Manage site services budgets and control costs effectively.
The Ideal Candidate
* Minimum Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
* Proven people management experience.
* Strong working knowledge of legal, statutory and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing environment.
* Hands‑on experience working with: Hot water boilers, Refrigeration systems, Ammonia plant, Air compressors.
* Previous experience within food manufacturing or a similar regulated environment is highly beneficial.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels.
