Performance Info Engineer
Rate: £#removed#/day inside IR35
Location: Bristol, hybrid
Reports To: Head of Data Governance
6 month contract
Purpose
The Performance Info Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality data products and pipelines that support business intelligence, analytics, and decision-making. This includes transforming and integrating data from multiple sources, ensuring alignment with architectural standards, and enabling actionable insights for project safety, quality, time, and cost management.
Key Responsibilities
* Translate business requirements and designs into technical solutions.
* Develop, test, and deploy data products using Databricks, Power BI, SQL, Python, Scala, and other technologies.
* Build, optimize, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and data flows for batch and streaming processes.
* Document data mappings, transformations, and lineage; re-engineer manual processes for scalability and automation.
* Ensure adherence to data standards, security, GDPR, and quality requirements.
* Use agile methodologies (Azure DevOps) to manage tasks, dependencies, and deliverables.
* Support continuous improvement, monitoring, and CI/CD deployment of data products.
Knowledge & Skills
* Strong technical knowledge of data engineering, BI, and analytics.
* Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
* Problem-solving and proactive approach to improving data pipelines.
* Knowledge of data ethics, security, and legal obligations.
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
* Experience in CI/CD, agile software engineering, SQL, Python/Scala, and R.
* Professional qualifications in software engineering or information analysis are desirable.
* Experience in nuclear, safety-critical, or regulated industries is advantageous.
