The role
As a Payroll Administrator, you support the smooth and accurate running of payroll processes for one of the UK’s most significant engineering and clean‑energy programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of a major industrial workforce operation, where your attention to detail, organisation, and people‑focused approach help ensure thousands of colleagues are paid correctly and on time. Your work contributes directly to the success of a nationally important infrastructure project and gives you hands‑on experience in payroll, HR operations, workforce systems, and data accuracy — all of which support your long‑term career development.
This role offers 37 hours per week and is based at Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset. Set working times are Monday to Friday.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
1. Managing daily payroll activity using Kronos Time and Attendance systems.
2. Acting as the focal point for onsite payroll queries for blue‑collar personnel up to Superintendent level.
3. Maintaining and updating payroll trackers, including new starters, leavers, and grade changes.
4. Collecting, logging, and distributing payroll forms to payroll coordinators.
5. Supporting payroll coordinators with generating payroll reports and accuracy metrics.
Essential experience of the Payroll Administrator:
6. Recent experience working in a fast‑paced administrative environment.
7. Demonstrated experience in administration.
8. Ability to manage high volumes of information with strong organisational skills.
9. Confident communicator, able to work with stakeholders at all levels.
10. Strong prioritisation skills with the ability to work accurately and efficiently.
11. Previous payroll experience is not a requirement, on the job training will be provided
Qualifications for the Payroll Administrator:
12. Good standard of general education.
13. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
