The Role
An opportunity exists for an APS 4 Health Clerk to join a dynamic and collaborative team providing health care services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel in Adelaide. The successful candidate will perform a broad range of administrative and support tasks for a multi-disciplinary health care team, including processing admissions, dispatches, reception duties, records maintenance, and report collation and distribution.
The APS 4 Health Clerk is a vital member of the Primary Health Care Team, acting as an interface between ADF patients and health care services. The role involves liaising with patients, health professionals, and stakeholders to support services.
Responsibilities include allocating tasks, monitoring workloads, setting priorities, streamlining procedures, providing triage support, and training team members.
About our Team
Joint Health Command (JHC) delivers healthcare to over 70,000 ADF personnel, ensuring a healthy, ready, and supported force. The APS4 Health Clerk position is part of Joint Health Unit - Central Australia, based at Edinburgh Health Centre, RAAF Base Edinburgh, South Australia. The team manages various health services, including medical, nursing, dental, physiotherapy, mental health, rehabilitation, and inpatient care.
The team comprises Defence members, civilians, contractors, and health professionals working together to manage around one million patient interactions annually. The Health Clerk team handles patient streaming, appointments, referrals, and administrative processes, reporting to the APS6 Nurse/Health Administration Team Leader.
