We’re looking for a meticulous Operations Controller – Extra Charges to join our Marketplace Operations team. In this commercially focused role, you’ll take ownership of the entire extra charges process, including loss, damage, and additional costs. You’ll be the key link between customers and suppliers, ensuring every charge is accurate, fair, and aligned with our commercial and service standards.
The impact you’ll have:
You’ll maintain excellent relationships with customers and suppliers. Through attention to detail, negotiation, and professionalism, you’ll ensure every charge is handled transparently and fairly — supporting trust, compliance, and profitability.
A typical day:
* Review and validate supplier charges for loss, damage, or additional costs
* Ensure all charges are accurate, reasonable, and compliant with contract terms
* Challenge or negotiate excessive or incorrect charges to protect commercial value
* Prepare and issue customer invoices with supporting documentation
* Manage the full lifecycle of charges — from receipt to settlement
* Investigate and assess claims using supplier evidence and site reports
* Determine liability (customer, supplier, or internal) and negotiate fair settlements
* Verify repair or replacement costs and manage insurance-related claims where applicable
* Maintain detailed records of all loss and damage cases
* Maintain complete audit trails and supporting evidence for all charges
* Ensure charges align with original hire contracts and T&Cs
