Job Title: Project Delivery Lead - Midlands Regional Nuclear Skills Hub
Working Pattern: 37 hours
Working location: Derby
A new role for a Project Delivery Lead - Midlands Regional Nuclear Skills Hub has arisen within the Engineering & Technology function within the Rolls-Royce Submarines business. This is a unique opportunity to support the delivery of the National Nuclear Strategic Plan for Skills (NNSPS) for the benefit of Rolls-Royce and the broader Midlands region. Key to the success of the NNSPS is the establishment of “Regional Hubs” that provide focal points of delivery and the opportunity to adapt to a region’s particular challenges around nuclear and related skills. Hubs are operational in the North-West and South-West of England and in Scotland, led by Tier 1 industry sponsors. The Midlands Hub was launched in November 2024 with Rolls-Royce as the prime sponsor.
Regional Hubs bring together stakeholders representing industry, learning providers and relevant local, regional and national groups to enable collaboration with established regional bodies to support the delivery of skills in the regions; gathering of regional skills insights to support workforce planning and demand; improving training and accessibility and strengthening the pipeline of skilled workers to ensure the right talent is available where it is needed most.
In this role you will report directly into the Midlands Regional Nuclear Skills Hub Strategic Lead and will work with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders to help drive the skills investment needed to help Rolls-Royce and the region realise its future nuclear ambitions. The scope of this role is very broad and so you will have a fantastic opportunity to develop your knowledge, skills and professional network.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location. What you will be doing:
* Developing, monitoring and managing an overarching plan for Midlands Regional Nuclear Skills Hub activity, identifying and helping to resolve resource and operational challenges
* Stakeholder communications and engagement across a broad range of organisations at the regional and national level
* Reporting Midlands Hub performance to a range of internal and external stakeholders including the Nuclear Skills Delivery Board (NSDB) which governs the NNSPS
* Supporting the Midlands Hub Strategic Lead to manage the performance of all Midlands Hub projects and holding the right people to account when necessary.
* Deputising for the Midlands Hub Strategic Lead and representing Rolls-Royce at a variety of internal and external meetings
* Facilitating the development and agreement of requirements, project scope and solutions for specific outputs and work packages
* Lead a Midlands Hub Project, working as part of an integrated team to achieve an agreed outcome
Who we’re looking for:
* Motivated to play a key role in delivering the NNSPS for the benefit of Rolls-Royce, its partners and the Midlands region.
* Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Willingness to learn quickly and operate at pace
* Comfortable with ambiguity whilst helping to mobilise this new initiative
Key skills, experience and knowledge:
* Good, proven experience and skillset within project management delivery
* Excellent stakeholder management skills
* Experience of collaborating in multi-disciplinary organisational partnerships
* Strong communication skills, externally and internally, with the ability to communicate up to a senior level in concise definitive terms.
* Strong problem solving skills within a multi-functional and complex environment.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office
Qualifications:
* Essential - A bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience;
* Desirable – APM qualification

* Ability to travel across the Midlands Region to participate at in-person sessions

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place.
