SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time – Primary School (Ashton, Preston) Pay: £13.75 per hour Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm Location: Ashton, Preston Contract: Long-term, full-time About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a supportive Primary School in the Ashton area of Preston. The ideal candidate will have previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and be passionate about helping pupils thrive both academically and emotionally. This is a full-time position, offering consistent working hours and the opportunity to make a long‑term impact within a nurturing school environment. Key Responsibilities - Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, speech & language needs, and learning difficulties. - Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities. - Support pupils’ emotional, social, and behavioural development. - Help create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment. - Communicate effectively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents/carers. - Contribute to EHCP targets and pupil progress tracking. Requirements - Experience supporting children with SEN is essential. - Previous work within a Primary School setting is highly desirable. - Strong communication, patience, and empathy. - Ability to use initiative and adapt to changing needs. - Relevant qualifications (e.g., Teaching Assistant Level 2/3, SEN training) are beneficial but not essential if you have strong experience. - Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
