We are looking for a proactive and highly organised Operations Coordinator to deliver a bespoke inspection and analysis service to a global client base. Working across a wide range of commodities and international locations, you will manage operations end-to-end, ensuring quality, efficiency and outstanding customer service. About the Position Hours Per Week: 37.5 Shift: Working hours: Monday to Friday (08:30 - 17:00). Initially office-based; after passing probation, the role becomes hybrid with three days in the office and two days at home. Contract: Full Time & Permanent Annual Salary: £27,000 Closing Date: Wednesday 15th April 2026 The Day to Day Manage inspection and analysis projects from “cradle to grave” Coordinate quotations, inspections, sampling, weighing, shipments and laboratory analysis Liaise with clients and internal teams to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery Oversee international appointments and ensure timely execution Monitor workloads, manage operational risks and support dispute resolution Produce reports, analysis certificates and invoices within agreed timelines (reports within 3 days, samples within 1 day, invoices within 5 days) Maintain accurate databases and support commercial activities, including tenders and key account management Contribute to departmental performance, including profit & loss, service quality and continuous improvement Provide operational reporting and data to senior management Promote and adhere to health & safety policies, identifying and addressing risks Maintain quality standards in line with company procedures and support audits Participate in on-site operations where required to build operational knowledge Collaborate with global teams to support consistency, quality and problem-solving The Essentials Minimum 2 years’ experience in inspection services (commodities preferred) Experience using Management Information Systems Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills Strong analytical thinking with the ability to interpret data and make sound decisions Proven problem-solving skills and a proactive, results-driven approach Sound understanding of Quality Management Principles and ISO 9000 standards Ability to assess and manage risk across a variety of scenarios Team-oriented, with the ability to support and develop less experienced colleagues Committed to continuous learning and improvement Professional, self-motivated and able to use initiative Our Benefits Include: Attractive Salary Private Healthcare Shift Allowance Discretionary annual bonus Life Assurance 25 days holiday plus bank holidays 6% employer pension Free parking Fully subsidised staff canteen Working at ALS The ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.
