Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is the largest of Scotland’s seven regional transport partnerships. We run the Glasgow Subway, a host of specialist bus services and are responsible for delivering better public transport for all.
The Subway has been modernised twice in its history with the previous modernisation taking place in the late 1970s. We are currently finalising a £288m transformational project which will result in the Subway being one of the most advanced systems in Europe. About the Role
As a key member of the Engineering & Maintenance Team, you will utilise your skills and experience in a busy multi-disciplined operational environment. You will lead on the improvement of asset management systems and associated processes as well as the development of the Quality Management System.
You will be involved in a wide range of different activities, including the development of effective asset management strategies across a diverse range of assets, also with responsibility for leading the application and development of asset information systems to plan and control asset maintenance, overhaul and renewals, and to support data-based decisions to improve asset whole life cost and performance.
About you
The successful candidate will have relevant educational and professional qualifications, as well as having experience of working in an operational, multi-disciplinary engineering and/or maintenance environment. It is essential that you have knowledge of asset management principles and extensive experience in the use and development of enterprise / maintenance management systems and associated processes. A team player with the drive to succeed, you will have strong communication, problem solving and numeracy skills, and be confident dealing with internal and external stakeholders whilst making difficult decisions. Experience in the use of MS Office Suite would also be advantageous.
Full time hours will be 35 hours per week Monday to Friday.
The nature of this role may require you to work out with normal office hours on occasion, to support the operational requirements of the organisation.
You will be based at Broomloan Depot, Robert Street, Govan, Glasgow, G51 3HB.
