Location: We currently have a permanent opportunity for a Recycler Technician to join our Customer Field Services department with our Waste Service Delivery Business Unit area covering the Yorkshire region. Successful applicants need to be within a 30-minute commute from our Lower Brighouse wastewater treatment works.
Work type: Working 40 hours per week, working rotational work patterns to cover 24/7 working. Once fully trained, you will need to participate in an emergency call-out rota, typically 1 week in 7, so flexibility is essential. You will be required to travel across operational sites in the region; a full valid driving licence (no more than 6 points), a LGV licence Category C, and ideally a driver DCPC are required.

Where you fit!
As a Recycler Technician, you will work alongside the Recycler Assistant and collaborate with other teams and partners to resolve sewer network issues. Your responsibilities include operating recyclers safely, responding to reactive blockage reports, and ensuring high standards of customer service and environmental safety.
You will be responsible for data collection, assessing issues, and organizing remedial works, liaising with customers and contractors. Compliance with health and safety procedures is mandatory. The role involves working in confined spaces and passing medical assessments to ensure safety.
A valid EU driving licence with no more than six points, a Category C HGV licence, and DCPC are required, along with experience in driving vehicles with liquid loads and recycler operation.
You should have a strong safety background, fault diagnosis skills, IT competency, and experience in customer service. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
The role involves working various shifts to cover 24/7 operations, including out-of-hours call-outs. Previous wastewater experience is advantageous.
