Job Title: Commercial Account Handler
Location: West Sussex
Purpose of the Role: Lawes is working with a well-established brokerage seeking a capable and driven individual to manage a book of small-to-mid-sized commercial insurance clients. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, enjoys being client-facing, and is eager to contribute within a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and service an existing book of commercial clients.
2. Support new business activity where needed.
3. Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance.
4. Build strong client relationships through clear communication and responsiveness.
5. Contribute to a positive and proactive team culture.
Day-to-Day Tasks:
1. Handle renewals and mid-term adjustments across various commercial products.
2. Engage with clients regularly via phone and email.
3. Liaise with underwriters to obtain terms and negotiate on behalf of clients.
4. Provide technical support to colleagues where appropriate.
5. Work closely with the team to share knowledge and ideas.
Experience:
1. Background in commercial lines preferred.
2. Experience with client servicing and policy administration.
3. Cert-CII or working towards qualification is desirable.
4. Experience in new business production or managing a client book is welcome but not essential.
Skills:
1. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
2. Organised with excellent attention to detail.
3. Commercially aware with a willingness to learn.
4. Self-motivated and team-oriented.
5. Comfortable working in a busy client-facing environment.
