General Practitioner (ARRS) Pontefract and Knottingley PCN
This role is for a newlyqualified, enthusiastic GP to join Pontefract & Knottingley PCN. The totalpopulation is over 49,000 patients across 4 GP practices, all rated"Good" by CQC. This is a rare opportunity to gain experience across fourdifferent practices as well as supporting our Care Home Team.
Wework extremely closely with general practice but also in partnership with otherlocal healthcare providers with a purpose to ensure viable GP services remainat the heart of local communities, providing sustainable and high-qualitypatient-focused healthcare.
Wepride ourselves on having a team of excellent educators, with three registeredtraining practices. We can offer a comprehensive training and education packageto develop skills in your chosen field. By joining the PCN, you can learn howto support patients with integrated care across other health and social careproviders, as well as collaborate with practice and PCN multidisciplinarycolleagues.
Main duties of the job
This would be a fantastic opportunity for you to learn from experienced GPs and take part in case reviews and MDT meetings further expanding your knowledge of Primary Care while also being part of a forward thinking PCN. Leadershipand supervision will be provided by the PCN Education Lead, as well as a namedmentor (you will have opportunities to meet regularly for debriefs). Tutorialsand personal development time will be factored into your working week.
About us
Our PCN staff currently includes a well-established Pharmacist Team, an Occupational Therapist, Health Coaches, Social Prescribers, Care Coordinators, GPAs, a Mental Health Practitioner, and ANPs attached to our Care Home Team.
The work base for this rolewill be within the PCN practices. There may be a requirement to work flexiblyto cover the responsibilities of the role from any suitable venue, includingworking from home.

Person Specification
Experience
* Experience of working in primary care in an area with significant health problems
* Experience of providing primary care in and out of hours
* Development of areas of clinical expertise
* Experience of audit and improving care for patients
Eligibility Requirements
* Must not have been substantively employed as a GP in general practice previously; or
* Is not employed in a temporary capacity as a locum; and/or
* Upon commencement of employment is less than 2 years beyond their certificate of completion of training being issued by the GMC.
Qualifications
* MBBS or equivalent medical degree
* Full registration with GMC
* Certification of Completion of Training (JCPTGP PMETB)
* Inclusion on Performers List
* MRCGP
* Evidence of a commitment to on-going personal & professional development
Skills & Knowledge
* Understanding the role of medical services in a wider public health agenda
* Knowledge of the demographic characteristics that affect health and health care in the area
* Experience of working in primary care in an area with significant health problems
* Experience of providing primary care in and out of hours

* Understanding current NHS policies
