Overview
A well-established engineering company is seeking a Night Shift CNC Operator to join their expanding machine shop team.
Responsibilities
* Operating and monitoring CNC machines to produce components to specification.
* Carrying out routine machine checks and reporting any issues.
* Completing relevant production documentation accurately.
* Inspecting and quality-checking own work against engineering drawings.
* Reporting and recording any non-conformances.
* Supporting colleagues and assisting with general duties as required.
* Keeping the work area clean, organised, and safe at all times.
* Participating in training to maintain and develop skills.
* Minimising waste and contributing to continuous improvement activities.
* Providing support and guidance to new team members or apprentices.
* Working closely with supervisors and managers to meet production deadlines.
The Candidate
* Previous experience in CNC machine operation.
* Comfortable working night shifts.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
* Demonstrates responsibility, reliability, and a commitment to Health & Safety.
* Engineering qualification (e.g., apprenticeship or equivalent) is desirable.
* Numerate, with the ability to work with decimals, fractions, and whole numbers.
* Practical, hands-on approach with problem-solving skills.
