Job overview

Team Leader - Health Visiting will be responsible for the clinical and professional management of a designated multidisciplinary team, to ensure safe and effective care.

Overseeing the effective and efficient use of skills and resources you will ensure the integrated workforce are organised to meet the needs of local children and families in line with the Early Years Specification and other local and national standards.

You will be responsible for line managing the Health Visitor team on a daily basis to ensure the delivery of evidence based care and advice to children and families.

You will provide clinical leadership and support to Health Visitors through clinical supervision and by acting as an exemplar of clinical practice and quality standards.

You will engage effectively with key partners and the community to develop services that address the early year’s high impact areas and the individual needs of children and families

Person specification


Qualifications

* 1st Degree or equivalent.
* NMC registration SPHN (HV)
* Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) within general management activities


Experience

* Evidence of excellent clinical and professional engagement.
* Experience in management of national performance targets, supporting organisational and business change.
* Experience in preparation and use of complex IT and data systems, presenting complex written and verbal information to groups.
* Significant experience and successful in-depth knowledge of staff management and the procedures and policies underpinning this
* Experience in supporting management of change and service improvement; i.e. project management, process mapping and service redesign.
* Evidence of successful development in a changing clinical and technological environment.
* Knowledge of contracting, business planning and policy implementation.
* Experience in managing a budget management evidencing the relationship between service development and resource management.
* Ability to demonstrate analytical and organisational skills with a clear understanding and knowledge of data analysis development and data management and interpretation
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with individuals and groups
* Excellent organisational/ prioritisation skills and the ability to meet deadlines, often working with sensitive or contentious information within varying environments.
* Ability to demonstrate knowledge and implementation of NHS access targets.
* Competent user of MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Patient Administration Systems.
* Understanding and knowledge of finance and performance management
* Ability to think creatively and prioritise in a busy ever changing environment.
* Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the local health economy, recent NHS modernisation policies, strategies and outpatient practices.
* Ability to lead teams in complex services, supporting setting of clear direction and delivering service objectives.
* Knowledge and skills in workforce planning, evidencing the ability to engage and fully utilise staff skills and interests.
* Understanding of the goals and values of the Division and the Trust.


Personal Qualities

* Self-motivated.
* Positive, energetic, enthusiastic in outlook and able to set a good example
* Ability to manage under pressure; work to tight deadlines, evidencing excellent time management
* Able to work independently or as part of a team.
* Evidence of strong leadership skills, the ability to negotiate, persuade and influence at a senior level with a supportive style whilst also able to take difficult decisions and act assertively
* Keen to develop services in line with service, educational and research priorities with the service.

In accordance with UK Home Office requirements, Band 2 clinical and non-clinical roles and Band 3 Non-Clinical roles are not eligible for sponsorship.

Please note that the majority of non-clinical roles (Agenda for Change Band 3 - 6) with the exception of those which appear on this list - link, will not meet the minimum requirements set by UK Visas and Immigration to sponsor candidates to work in the UK.

All non-clinical roles (Agenda for Change Bands 7 - 9) that meet the prescribed skill level (RQF 6) and salary threshold will be eligible for sponsorship.

The Trust will accept applications from candidates who can evidence their right to work in the UK or via alternative visa routes.
