Job Description:
Ref: REQ001740
Competitive salary and excellent benefits. Full Time.
Due to expansion of apprenticeships, we currently have a vacancy to join our highly successful apprenticeship team as a Coach/Mentor in Engineering Apprenticeships. Industry experience in Engineering is preferred.
You will work with our Business Services and Engineering team in Farnborough, engaging with employers, apprentices, and colleagues across the College to deliver high-quality apprenticeships that support effective learning, retention, and achievement.
The Coach/Mentor will support and guide apprentices through their programme, including preparing them and their employers for the end-point assessment of the apprenticeship standards. This involves visiting apprentices at their workplaces for regular reviews, so some travel is expected.
Applicants should have at least Level 3 qualification and relevant Engineering vocational experience. Strong administrative, organizational, communication, and IT skills are essential.
This is an excellent opportunity to work at an Outstanding College with a comprehensive benefits package, including LGPS Pension, 32 days holiday, onsite gym, Employee Assistance Programme, retail discounts, on-site parking, and a refectory.
Farnborough College of Technology is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
Interviews will be conducted shortly after the closing date or once sufficient suitable applications are received. Early applications are encouraged. The College reserves the right to interview candidates before the closing date or withdraw the vacancy if an early appointment is made.
Safeguarding Statement
The College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults. All staff must share this commitment, which includes undergoing an enhanced DBS check, referencing, and qualification verification.
Disclosure and Barring Service
The College complies with DBS regulations and handles disclosures appropriately, ensuring no discrimination based on criminal record information. The role may involve unsupervised contact with children and vulnerable adults and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Candidates will need to disclose relevant criminal history if invited for an interview. Failure to disclose can lead to disqualification or termination.
