Committee Services Apprentice – Business Administration
Fixed Term Contract for up to 18 Months
37 hours per week
Point 1 -£15,194 a year – initial salary for all new starters for the first 12 months of the apprenticeship.
Progression of pay after 12 months are complete as follows:
Point 2 - £20,136 a year - completed 12 months and aged 18 – 20
Point 3 - £24,577 a year - completed 12 months and aged 21+

As a Committee Services Apprentice you will work within the Committee Services Team gaining skills, knowledge and experience of the District Council’s various Committees and policies and procedures. You will gain experience of liaising with both local Councillors and WDC officers of differing levels of seniority, prepare work programmes, agendas and minutes of Committee meetings and support colleagues to clerk various meetings.
As part of this role, you will undertake alevel 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship. You will be enrolled onto the apprenticeship shortly after you join, and it will take 18 months to complete.You will complete training for 20% of your time, including from an apprenticeship training provider. You will have guidance and support whilst working within a team that places a high value on teamwork, professionalism, and responsibility. The Committee Services team often have to work to tight deadlines as agendas need to be published according to statutory deadlines. You will need to be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, in all cases will have the support of your team leader and a mentor.
You will also need to be able to travel to different Council offices across the district and attend up to 40 evening meetings a year, many of which finish late in evening. It may be advantageous to have a full current valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Apprenticeships are funded by the UK Government and there are some rules which we need to consider to establish eligibility for this opportunity.
In particular:
* You will have been a resident in the UK for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship or fit the criteria of eligible residency status in theApprenticeshipFunding Rules.
* You do not already hold the same or similar qualifications.

The intention is for the postholder to work predominately from our office based in Warwick; however, it is a requirement to attend the Town Hall, Royal Leamington Spa or any other site within the district as needed. Any costs for travel from home to the office will be met by the successful candidate. However, hybrid working is also available.
