SUMMARY
The purpose of this role is to help set up and deliver a major education sector campaign across higher education, schools, further education, youth and sport. The post holder will work closely with the campaign team across a range of marketing and communications activity which will include some or all of the following:
• Content development – for social media, websites, blog posts, events etc
• Channel management – including social media accounts, websites and managing the events calendar
• Audience insight – managing the flow of audience insights, ensuring they are accessible and shared with the relevant internal stakeholders
• Data, performance and reporting – supporting overall project management of the campaign; collation of data and reports
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Content development – for social media, websites, blog posts, events etc
Copywriting for multiple channels including social media, web, blogs, guides, event materials and newsletters. Management of the editorial calendar; gathering inputs from other and proactively suggesting types of content. Content tagging in line with agreed tagging framework, and UTM creation.
Understanding of the education sector (higher education, schools, adult education etc) and ability to apply this to content development highly desirable. This will include curiosity to understand sector needs and develop clear, compelling content in response. Ability to take complex content and distil into easy to understand, engaging materials essential.
Canva skills desirable but not essential.
2. Channel management – including social media accounts, websites and managing the events calendar
Scheduling and posting across multiple channels, including liaison with other channel owners. Proactive identification of gaps or outdated content.
Developing and managing the calendar of events (including tracking relevant sector and partner events) and ensuring they are promoted across relevant channels.
3. Audience insight – managing the flow of audience insights, ensuring they are accessible and shared with the relevant internal stakeholders
Tracking and distilling audience insight gathered from various sources (including meeting minutes, insight surveys and intelligence gathered by colleagues). Ensuring audience insight is appropriately saved and distributed internally.
4. Data, performance and reporting – supporting overall project management of the campaign; collation of data and reports
Ensuring agreed metrics across above channels are tracked. Compiling reports.
This may include knowledge/information management, taking minutes and tracking agreed actions.
5. Relationship & stakeholder management
Acting as the primary point of contact for the comms teams of external stakeholders, helping ensure we work collaboratively with stakeholders in the sector.
