We are looking for a Training & Recruitment Officer to help us grow (even) faster across our Shutterly Fabulous business, through our John Lewis Partnership, and touching our other brands along the way.
You’ll be hands on with Indeed, delivering sessions for new starters, getting out and about to our retail partners across the UK, and shaping the way we work: for the better.
You’ll be based in our HQ near Brighton on the south coast – and will be pivotal in recruiting the right people and helping shape their interactions with customers.
Overview
This newly created position will be key to delivering, coordinating, and developing training programmes, in addition to recruitment administration to ensure we recruit high quality candidates in a cost effective and efficient manner.
The ideal candidate will be skilled in delivering product training, with a focus on ‘Feature, Advantage & Benefit’ customer focused communication – ideally with knowledge of e-learning / LMS for planned development of the training function.
A grounding in recruitment processes, terminology, and best practice is essential, as a significant part of the role involves sourcing, screening, and onboarding new field-based specialists for our Shutterly Fabulous retail division.
This is a varied role requiring excellent organisation, confident communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously and flexibly with multiple teams.
Main Responsibilities
Training
* Continuously improve training modules for products including internal window shutters, blinds, and similar products.
* Coordinate induction training for both office-based and field-based colleagues.
* Create engaging training materials and resources for both in person and digital delivery.
* Support the field team in delivery of training to retail partners across the UK (some travel and occasional overnight will be required).
* Coordinate and consolidate product knowledge training for trade, ecommerce, and retail teams across the group.
* Maintain training records and ensure all employees meet required competency levels.
Recruitment
* Administrate recruitment for field-based specialist roles, including job posting/sourcing, screening, and interview support to ensure we recruit high quality candidates cost effectively.
* Collaborate with department managers to understand hiring requirements and establish recruitment plans.
* Coordinate with our HR manager for pre‑employment checks, references, and onboarding documentation.
General Responsibilities
* Work with stakeholders across TCMM Shutter Group to identify training gaps and recruitment needs.
* Provide regular reporting on training activity, recruitment metrics, and field specialist field training and sign off.
* Maintain strong relationships with external training partners, recruitment platforms, and industry network.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives across the training and recruitment functions.

Qualifications and Experience
* Proven ability to deliver training for products, ideally in home improvement, construction, or installation-based industries.
* Strong knowledge of recruitment processes, terminology, and best practices.
* Experience hiring field-based roles or other specialist operational positions.
* Confident delivering training both in person and virtually (critical).
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to work independently while building strong relationships across departments.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office, digital training platforms, and recruitment software.
* Knowledge of window shutters, blinds, or similar interior/home improvement products.
* Experience creating training content, including manuals and video materials.
* Background working within a trade, ecommerce, or retail environment.

Hours of work - 37.5 hrs per week, Monday-Friday
Location - BN41, Hove (HQ) other locations may be required for training
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £33,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
