We are working with apany based in Cheltenham who are looking to add an extra head to their team due to growth. They are looking for someone with experience in the transactional finance area.
Your new role
As Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day finance function. You’ll be responsible for managing the purchase and sales ledgers, performing bank reconciliations, and ensuring smooth transactional finance operations.Key ResponsibilitiesPurchase Ledger
1. Process supplier invoices and credit notes accurately and in a timely manner
2. Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
3. Prepare payment runs and maintain supplier records
Sales Ledger
4. Raise and issue customer invoices
5. Monitor receivables and follow up on outstanding payments
6. Maintain accurate customer account records
Bank Reconciliations
7. Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations
8. Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies
9. Ensure all transactions are recorded correctly in the accounting system
Transactional Finance
10. Assist with expense processing and employee reimbursements
11. Support month-end and year-end close processes
12. Maintain financial documentation and support audits
Skills & Experience
13. Previous experience in a similar finance role, ideally within an SME or tech environment
14. Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and transactional finance
15. Proficiency in accounting software (, Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and Excel
16. Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
17. Strongmunication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
