We’re looking for a Portfolio Manager – Fast Track Innovation to lead the delivery of our fast-paced innovation portfolio, driving projects from concept to measurable business value in under months.
This is a key leadership role, managing a team of Project Managers delivering innovative solutions and trials covering both digital and operational solutions that support the future of our business.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Leading end-to-end delivery of a dynamic innovation portfolio
2. Driving excellence in Agile delivery and continuous improvement
3. Managing priorities, risks, dependencies, and resources across multiple projects
4. Ensuring innovation delivers tangible operational and commercial value
5. Collaborating with engineers, data scientists, architects, and operational teams
6. Providing clear portfolio insights and reporting to senior stakeholders
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
What we’re looking for:
7. Proven experience managing complex portfolios or programmes
8. Strong leadership experience, with the ability to develop high-performing teams
9. Expertise in Agile delivery methodologies
10. Experience delivering digital and/or operational transformation
11. Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
12. A data-driven, outcome-focused mindset
Desirable:
13. Experience in innovation, product development, or continuous improvement
14. Background in utilities, engineering, infrastructure, or technology
15. Agile and/or project management certifications ( Scrum, SAFe, PRINCE, MSP, PMP)
