Do you want a role that will enable you to further advance your 2D AutoCAD and GIS skills whilst also developing your understanding of strategic asset management functions? About the Role We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the Data Management and Information Team within Strategic Property Services. As a Data Management, CAD, and GIS Systems Technician, you will support the successful delivery of the Council's Corporate Asset Management Plan by using your technical knowledge to help develop, manage, and maintain our asset management systems. Day-to-day your role will include: Completing on-site measured surveys of properties across the county to prepare accurate 2D AutoCAD floor plans. Responding to internal and external land ownership enquiries by checking ownership data from title deeds and Land Registry documents. Using the Property Asset Management System and other related systems to accurately record core property data as well as assisting with the identification of issues and contributing to their resolution and reconciliation between systems. Supporting and implementing changes to internal systems used by the Data Management and Information Team whilst ensuring integrity of information, including co-ordinating testing, and developing guidance. Assisting with system administration including the training of users in the day-to-day operation of the system to enable easy access and use of property data. Supporting with the creation of GIS plans during busy time periods. You may, on occasion, be required to work outside of normal working hours. About You To apply for this post, you must be able to evidence in your application how you meet the following criteria: Hold a BSC qualification in Architectural Technology and Practice and/or AutoCAD City and Guilds minimum Level 2 (2D Computer Aided Design), or a BTEC Higher / NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant subject (e.g., Civil Engineering Geography, Planning, Surveying, Information Management). Have experience of using 2D AutoCAD or GIS systems (AutoCAD is preferred) as well as Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Have knowledge of building and construction or Geographical Information Systems plus an understanding of the issues facing local government. Have good numerical skills and the ability to analyse and interpret data with a focus on accuracy and quality, as well as experience of the production of information to support strategic and operational business management. Have good communication, planning and organisational skills and experience of dealing with a range of customers and of promoting continuous improvement. Be proactive, with a flexible approach to working whilst meeting deadlines and the ability to use your initiative and be accountable when dealing with requests and finding solutions. Hold a current valid UK driving licence or be able to travel between sites to complete visits.
