Job Title: Health & Safety Officer
Reports To: HR Manager / Factory Manager

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday Friday (flexibility required during audits, peak seasons, or customer visits)
Salary: £35,000 £40,000 per year OTE
Benefits: 28 days holiday, bank holidays (subject to approval), workplace pension, staff events, on-site parking/canteen
Role Overview:
As a Health & Safety Officer, you will support the business in implementing Health & Safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all legal obligations, and promoting the health, safety, and well‑being of all employees. The Health & Safety Officer will play a key role in maintaining a safe workplace while delivering training, audits, and guidance across the organization.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provide Health & Safety guidance and support to managers, team leaders, and staff.
* Assist in the development and implementation of company Health & Safety policies.
* Maintain compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation and regulations.
* Coordinate all fire alarm and fire safety requirements.
* Support training activities, including First Aid and Fire Warden programs.
* Perform Health & Safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
* Prepare and maintain accurate reports, documentation, and records.
* Conduct risk assessments and develop follow‑up action plans.
* Support internal audits and external audit processes.
* Reinforce all Health & Safety protocols across the business.
* Deliver internal Health & Safety training sessions and coordinate external training where necessary.
* Actively promote the organization's values and a culture of safety.
Required Skills and Competencies:
* Minimum 2 years experience in a similar Health & Safety role.
* Experience with report writing, auditing, and RAMS.
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
* Proficient in IT and numeracy (MS Office).
* Full clean driving license.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
* NEBOSH Diploma or Degree.
* Experience within the food or FMCG industry.
* Training certification or experience delivering Health & Safety training.
