We are looking for a Part-time (0.8) Placement Officer to join our passionate, dynamic and friendly team of Health, Health and Social Care, Education and Childcare professionals based at our Wycombe Campus. In your role as a Placement Officer, you will be working with students in the Health and Life Sciences department preparing them for their work placements, sourcing suitable placements, completing DBS requirements, ensuring that placements are safe and appropriate and visiting students to check on their progress. This is a varied role that requires flexibility, excellent organisational and communication skills and a passion for working with young people to inspire them to progress onto further study or careers in the Health and Social Care sectors.
Responsibilities
* Liaise with and support lecturers in delivering practical training and preparing students for their work placement in a variety of health, health and social care, education and childcare settings.
* Support curriculum staff by liaising on work experience placement issues, and work to resolve them.
* Keep accurate records of placement locations, health and safety, assessment and support visits and student attendance.
* To monitor student development in the setting ensuring regular reviews of students\' progress and achievement.
* To complete paperwork for DBS checks.
Requirements
* Part-time (0.8) placement officer with flexibility to support a varied timetable.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills; ability to work with young people and collaborate with faculty and external placement providers.
* Experience liaising with lecturers and managing placement-related issues.
* Ability to complete DBS checks and manage safeguarding requirements.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students and staff.
