Support Workers required for Children's Home in Cardiff CF15
We are currently looking for dedicated, caring Support Workers to join our team in North Cardiff
Children are typically aged between 11-18 and experience complex health and Learning disabilities. There are currently 8 young people at the home.
They are supported by nurturing staff who provide them with the love and security they need to grow, develop and recover from past experiences. Our home is Ofsted registered.
We are looking for caring children's residential support workers committed to providing our young people with a safe, supportive, empathetic environment and being a consistent role model in their lives.
Salary for Residential Support Worker and senior support workers
Support Worker £12.71 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
You will be expected to work some weekends and occasional overnight sleep ins.
Senior Support Worker £13.56 per hour
Sleep ins £50 required occasionally
Shifts are up to 40 hours per week
Successful candidates for Support Worker and senior support workers will:

Be there to support children through the good times and the tough times
Help children feel good about themselves and encourage them to try new things
Listen when children want to talk
Celebrate their achievements
Support young people towards independent living.
Assist is developing their self-belief and coping skills.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and family members in meeting children’s needs.
Support and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of all aspects in the home including cooking, cleaning and finances.
Ensuring that the needs of the young people are being met and reviewing and recording changes to those needs.
What experience or qualifications would be required for Residential Support Worker and Senior support workers
Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification is desirable; however training will be available.(essential for Senior)
Experience of supporting vulnerable young people within a residential care environment, or similar youth worker experience.
You will be compassionate, resilient, committed to being a positive role model and confident in managing challenging behaviours.
Flexible and able to work a residential care rota which includes evening, weekends and holiday periods and sleep ins.
Have supported children with LD and complex needs
Hold a valid UK driving licence.(essential)
