Job Summary

Warrington & Halton Cardiac Rehab Team have maintained BACPR/NACR Green status for a number of years. We are part of the North West Cardiac Rehab Network, sharing best practice and training opportunities.

We see patients with varied diagnoses: MI, PCI, CABG, valve surgery, heart failure, heart transplant, across two venues in Warrington and Halton. With a patient‑centred approach, help them achieve their goals – from improving breathlessness during ADLs to running a 150‑mile race. We pride ourselves in leading by example and actively look to improve the service through service developments and improvements.

The role of the OT in the team is to bring specialist skills to the MDT, supporting patients through their cardiac rehab journey at numerous points.

Responsibilities

You will work as part of a small but highly specialist team, in an outpatient setting, in our hospital and community venues. Using your specialist skills, support patients’ recovery after their cardiac diagnosis or treatment. The main focus is psychosocial support, helping patients with mental health. The post holder ideally has experience supporting patients’ mental health or is willing to undertake CPD to gain the relevant competencies.

About Us

Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a caring and compassionate organisation that is ambitious and innovative. We are committed to delivering the best outcomes for patients and providing a positive experience for staff. We aspire to be outstanding for patients, our communities and our staff and are committed to being a great place to receive health care, work and learn.

Straddling the neighbouring boroughs of Warrington and Halton, we are part of the Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care system. Our hospitals are ideally situated to meet the growing healthcare needs of the 330,000 population of these boroughs. Warrington Hospital is home to our emergency, critical care and maternity services; Halton Hospital focuses on elective procedures and the Runcorn Urgent Treatment Centre, although many services are offered at both sites and in community hubs.

We are a CQC-rated ‘good’ organisation with ‘outstanding’ features, working towards university hospital status, and have achieved teaching hospital status in 2019.

We employ nearly 5,000 people from over 80 nationalities, striving to be a diverse, inclusive employer and recognised leader in equality. We support flexible working and are welcoming of flexible applications. Proud of our many accreditations, we embed an anti‑racist approach in all we do.
