About the role
Additional Learning Needs Teaching Assistant
Location: Caerphilly
Pay: Daily rate of £88.92 – 101.92

We are currently seeking passionate and motivated Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Teaching Assistants to join our team and assist in providing tailored support for pupils with diverse learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to children’s lives.
Overview:
As an ALN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require extra support to access the curriculum and develop essential skills. You will work under the guidance of the class teacher Additional Learning Needs Coordinator (ALNCo), providing one-on-one and small group support in the classroom. You will also help create and implement individualised learning plans for students, ensuring that they are able to engage fully with their education.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support pupils with additional learning needs in the classroom.
* Assist in the development and delivery of individualised learning plans.
* Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Provide emotional and behavioural support as needed.
* Encourage pupils to develop their independence and confidence.
* Assist with classroom management and ensure a safe and respectful learning environment.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, ALNCo, and other professionals to monitor pupils progress.
* Assist with the preparation of classroom resources and learning materials.
* Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
* Previous experience working with students with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) is preferred, but not essential.
* A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A genuine desire to help students achieve their full potential.
* Knowledge of specific learning disabilities or experience with autism, ADHD, or dyslexia would be beneficial.
