Staff Nurse
In the position of Staff Nurse is required at Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHFT), a forward‑thinking and award‑winning Trust graded ‘Outstanding’ in the last CQC inspection.
Role Overview
The role is based at the Spinney ward within the Forest Centre, which is accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists. It focuses on caring for older adults with mental health needs such as anxiety and depression.
Key Responsibilities
* Work 24‑hour shifts, including weekends and night duty.
* Provide all aspects of nursing care, ensuring evidence‑based, high‑quality service for patients.
* Act as Keyworker for an identified group of service users on the ward.
* Support senior nursing staff in day‑to‑day ward management.
* Plan and deliver individualised programmes of care with a person‑centred, co‑produced approach.
* Assess mental state, needs, risks and strengths, including child protection and vulnerable adult considerations.
* Ensure care programmes are designed and delivered in line with assessed needs.
* Engage with multidisciplinary teams and promote well‑being activities.
Qualifications & Skills
* Compassionate, empathetic, resilient and reliable in a busy, occasionally stressful environment.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* High level of motivation and positive, person‑centred approach.
* Ability to undertake low‑level interventions and Breakaway training.
* Experience of working with older adults with mental health needs preferred.
